New Repaint Speed Video - now on YouTube!

Hi Guys... just popping in to let you know I have uploaded a new repaint speed video for 'Steam'! This is partly a video format and partly just progress shots. I apologise for this... I started out doing a full video but was struggling for time because I was also trying to get those final assessments done. I have two more videos that are pretty much the same format but any I do from now on will be full video style!
Hope you enjoy... don't forget to give the vid a thumbs up if you enjoy it and subscribe to see more!
Big hugs,
Julie XXX

Whats on my table!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently working on some doll commissions for the lovely Diane... these first two are Spectra's from Monster High. I thought I would upload a few progress photos for you as I know I personally love to see the process for any artworks I see. I am almost there with these two and one more session should see all the face and body shading done as well as lips and a few final bits and bobs on their faces. I usually do a little mini photo shoot with them, so once that's done I shall post final photos!

One more little bit of info... commission bookings are now closed. I'll be finishing up the ones I have at the moment and won't be taking on any more for a good while. I'm actually not completely sure when I will open them again or even whether I will. I'm trying to get a few other projects going and also want to focus on some costumed dolls (which take a little bit of time), so time is a little limited. I do thank you all for your understanding.

Have a great day everyone and I'll be back soon!

Some new Dragon Eyes!!

Hello Everyone!!
Finally the weather is starting to cool down here in sunny Rockhampton. The seasons have been quite strange here of late... we had a very hot summer and for a while there, it didn't seem like Autumn was ever going to arrive. Not that we experience Autumn like you lucky people who live in milder climates but normally the heat does diminish and the days become really pleasant. It just took a little longer this year! Being very much a 'winter' person, I have to say that I'm very glad to say goodbye to the summer! :)

Dragon Eyes!

I wanted to show you some of the dragon eyes I've been working on lately. I have been making these on and off since late last year and honestly, they are the most addictive little critters! I've seen many gorgeous ones on Etsy that are very 'dragon like' but I tend to make mine very pretty and feminine. No use trying to work against what comes naturally... these days I just go with the flow. So you will notice that they aren't really what you would expect a dragon to look like but I like them... they have beautiful colours and they SPARKLE!! What more could a girl want!! haha

If anyone is interested in making their own, you can find a wonderful tutorial by Lyn from LynzCraftz. All the basics are there and you can just use your own creativity! :)

And if your interested in purchasing any of my own dragon eye and polymer clay creations, just visit my MadeIt store here...

Well thats all I have for this post but I will be back soon with more news, pics and happenings!
Till then, take care everyone and God bless!!!

I'm Back!!! Hooray!

Well..... here I am, back again after a HUGE break. If you remember, I stopped posting here some time ago because I had rebuilt my website and I didn't think I could manage this blog as well as the myriad other social medias (SM's) I was on.... AND the website too! Well, I had a good think about things very recently and realised that what I really needed to do was go through all my SM's, decide which ones appealed to me and ones that I thought really worked well... and get rid of the rest. Would it be a big surprise to you that Facebook was the first to go!! LOL I have to be honest and tell you that I have never been a big fan of FB. I feel it is a huge time waster... sucks you right on in... and honestly, some of the stuff on there is just ridiculous. It wasn't working for me and didn't really make me very happy. I like my website but wasn't putting the time into it as I should (too much time doing other things like keeping up with FB), and anyway, to cut a long, dreary story short... I finally decided that I would mainly pursue my website, this Blog, my YouTube channel, Instagram and spend more time in Deviant Art. These will be my main arenas.

I still maintain my Mailing List, so if anyone would like to join that, just send me an email on ivyheartdesigns@gmail.com  and I will pop you on there. I usually do a mail out about twice a month...sometimes a little more if I have more news and sometimes less but it will keep you informed of all my new work... both art pieces and doll work. I would love to have you join... PLUS members of my mailing list have access to member only giveaways... so BONUS!! WooHoo :)

Sooo....I am sitting here totally exhausted and my eyes are demanding to be allowed to close, so I better finish up and go to bed. Its been a big day! If you are reading this post and not yet following me here, I would love to invite you to do so! And yes!!! I love comments.... I love interaction, so please feel free to comment, give your thoughts or even just say hello! That would be fantastic!!

Signing out now... see you for the next post!!
Big hugs and blessing!
